PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY

WHAT IS OFFERED AT LIVING FAITH

At Living Faith Christian Center, it is our practice to dedicate children to the Lord through a special ceremony. This dedication is not a christening, baptism, or ritual. Rather, it is a public commitment made by the adults presenting the child(ren), declaring their intention to raise them according to God’s guidance. We view this as an act of obedience to God's Word.

These dedication ceremonies take place on the fourth Sunday of each month and are open to children ranging from six weeks to seven years old. Parents or legal guardians must be active members of the church and have received Jesus as their personal Savior. Chosen godparents must also have accepted Jesus as their Savior. To participate, an application must be submitted one month prior to the desired ceremony date. For more information, please contact the church on (856) 661-8110.

The mission of our Care Ministry is to "Love until Restoration." We offer prayers and support to members experiencing a challenge in life. This ministry provides personalized Christian care to those grieving the loss of a loved one, dealing with health issues, or going through any other difficult circumstances.

Our team offers weekly calls to members in hospitals, homes, rehab centers, and more. For those unable to attend services, by special request, we can provide Communion on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, temporary shelter and food assistance are available. As Scripture reminds us, "I’m giving you a new commandment: Love each other in the same way that I have loved you."

At LFCC, we believe that there is safety in providing godly Biblical counsel to assist with the healing of the soul and one’s individual life. The Personal or Soul Ministry is a benefit offered to our membership. As stated earlier, all our counseling is based upon the Word of God (nouthetic counsel) to encourage an individual or couple to keep moving forward and desiring success in their individual and/or marriage life. Couples/individuals meet regularly with a member of our ministerial team who will help them to identify and work through areas of their marriages/individualism which may be causing a struggle.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be an active member of LFCC Family and a regular attender of in-person services.

We offer Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. It is often referred to as the Lord’s Supper and is a sacred practice instituted by Jesus Christ during His Last Supper with His disciples. This sacrament is a profound way for believers to remember, reflect upon, and celebrate the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus for our salvation. By partaking in the bread and the cup, Christians symbolically share in Christ’s body and blood, honoring the new covenant established through His death and resurrection.

WHY IS HOLY COMMUNION IS IMPORTANT?

Remembrance of Christ’s Sacrifice:

Holy Communion is a tangible reminder of Jesus’ love and the sacrifice He made on our behalf. Each time believers partake in this sacred meal; they recall the immense cost of redemption and are reminded of the grace extended to them.

Spiritual Nourishment:

The act of Communion offers spiritual nourishment and renewal. It provides a moment for quiet reflection, deepening intimacy with God, and reinforcing one’s commitment to a Christ-centered life.

Unity Among Believers:

Sharing in Communion symbolizes the unity of the Church. As believers partake together, they are reminded that they are part of one body in Christ, united in faith, purpose, and love.

Public Proclamation of Faith:

Observing Communion is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. It signifies the believer's commitment to remembering His sacrifice and the hope in His promised return, reinforcing the essential truths of the gospel.

Obedience to Christ’s Command:

Jesus instructed His followers to “do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19). By faithfully observing this sacrament, believers honor His command and maintain a vital connection to the teachings and legacy of Christ.

Water baptism holds great significance at LFCC and according to the Bible the importance is found in these scriptures:

Obedience to Jesus Christ: Baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Jesus Christ, who instructed His disciples to baptize believers in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19-20).

Public Identification with Christ: Through baptism, believers publicly identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It symbolizes the believer’s transition from the old life of sin to a new life in Christ (Romans 6:3-4).

Sign of Repentance and Forgiveness: Baptism is a visible sign of repentance, representing the forgiveness of sins. It marks the believer's commitment to turn away from sin and live in alignment with God’s will (Acts 2:38).

Receiving the Holy Spirit: Baptism is closely associated with receiving the Holy Spirit. It is through baptism that believers are granted the gift of the Holy Spirit, who empowers them to live out their faith (Acts 2:38).

Symbol of Cleansing: Baptism symbolizes spiritual cleansing and the washing away of sin, signifying a renewed relationship with God (1 Peter 3:21).

Incorporation into the Body of Christ: Baptism unites believers into the community of faith, making them part of the body of Christ. It symbolizes the believer's connection to fellow Christians and their shared identity in Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13).

A Mark of New Birth: Baptism represents the believer's spiritual rebirth. It signifies being born of the water and the Spirit, entering the Kingdom of God through a new life in Christ (John 3:5).

In summary, baptism is an essential act of faith for every Christian, marking a believer’s obedience to Christ, their new identity in Him, and their commitment to live a life empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Water baptism services are held quarterly during our morning worship service. It is offered to candidates who are at least eight years old and have accepted Jesus Christ at their Savior. Our purpose is to serve, encourage, equip, and walk alongside couples who are wholeheartedly committed to the sacred covenant of marriage, as established by God in Scripture—specifically Genesis 2:21–25. We believe marriage is a divine institution, and we are honored to support couples as they prepare to enter this lifelong commitment.

All couples desiring to be married through our ministry are required to complete a series of premarital counseling sessions designed to build a strong, Christ-centered foundation. Upon

successful completion of these sessions, couples may then move forward with planning their wedding ceremony.

For couples seeking a vow renewal, we offer personalized one-on-one sessions with our Marriage Directors. These sessions are intended to strengthen, refresh, and reaffirm the bond of marriage in a meaningful and spiritually enriching way.

All ceremonies, whether for marriage or vow renewal, are officiated by our pastoral staff. Each event is thoughtfully coordinated through our Marriage Directors and/or Wedding Coordinator to ensure it reflects both the couple’s commitment and the sanctity of the occasion.

SERVICES PROVIDED/REQUIRED:

  • Weddings and/or vow renewal services are open to our active members only, at least one person must be an active member
  • Premarital counseling/marriage renewal sessions must be successfully completed before any plans are made
  • The Wedding Coordinator will be present to assist with overall details of the wedding
